We are pleased to introduce Tim Kidd, our new chief executive…

I would first like to thank all the team at the ILFM for making me feel so welcome, I’m excited to be working with the ILFM as Chief Executive. I was please to find a dedicated and hard-working team in the office, already focused on giving great service and adding value to our members.

I have lived in Kent for the last 35 years, and now live in Chartham, a village just outside Canterbury. I have two lovely children, Lucy 12 and Benjamin nearly 17. I have recently moved back into the village I grew up in and very much enjoy village life, getting involved especially in the local church and musical scene in the area.

I have always been interested in people and how building solid business relationships are the key to continued success. I have had a variety of business roles creating, building and maintaining business relationships and especially with membership organisations. I started my own travel consultancy company when I was 21 and have always maintained an entrepreneurial outlook to business. I enjoyed many years working as a volunteer in the charity sector helping to build visibility and credibility for a lifesaving emergency blood transport and response organisation, now working with hospitals across the country and with the Air Ambulance.

For the last 16 years I have been mainly involved in membership organisations, including helping to introduce BNI; the worlds largest business referral organisation, into countries such as Malaysia, Spain, Vietnam and South Korea and helping in the design, realisation and roll out of a bespoke worldwide IT system. I have been most recently working with the Chambers of Commerce in Kent, representing private sector business to local and national government and getting involved in the debate on behalf of business, small and large, promoting the Chamber of Commerce business manifesto ahead of this year’s general election.

The ILFM is already a well-respected and highly effective organisation; I want to use my experience in further adding value to members and building the profile of the organisation. I’m very keen on collaboration, and think that it is a very positive and forward-looking way to work in partnership with others. I will also look to develop partnerships with many other organisations to further raise our profile and add more value to our members.

I look forward to working with the Executive Council in agreeing our plans for the ILFM and look forward to sharing those with you soon. If you aren’t already, please connect with us via Social Media and look up our new News/blog page for news and info; be the first to know about our training, offers and plans.

I always welcome your feedback and suggestions, please don’t hesitate to connect with me: tim@ilfm.org.uk
