Our 2019 Legal Accounts Salary Survey is now live...

  • Posted

...and we again need to ask for your help in compiling the invaluable data, which allows us to produce the most comprehensive survey of its kind for this niche community.

The legal accounts community has been evolving rapidly in recent years, and keeping track of salary trends in such times is an ongoing challenge for employers and individuals alike. Alongside the emergence of new roles, we’ve also seen a steady continuation in the distribution of legal finance teams across the UK as a number of London-based law firms migrate business support teams to lower-cost offices away from the capital.

The survey is 100% confidential and takes only 2 minutes to complete with a simple online questionnaire. As an added incentive, participants in this year’s survey have the option to enter a prize draw to win a magnum of champagne.

If you find that it’s difficult to source accurate salary data within your region, you can play a big role in changing that, by taking part and asking your peers and neighbouring firms to join in this confidential survey. We’d again like to make a particular mention to readers in Wales and the north of England to contribute, as we’d love to see a higher response level in these regions to strengthen the accuracy of data collected.

Our 2018 survey was the first in 6 years in which there was a decrease in the proportion of respondents who received an annual increase during the previous 12 months, dipping down from 71% to 67%. Was this the start of a trend in the UK legal sector? We suspect not, but only you can tell us!

A link to the survey can also be found on the homepage of the ILFM’s website (www.ilfm.org.uk) and on Balance Recruitment’s website (www.balancerecruitment.com

The survey will close on 24 March 2019. The results will be published in the May/June issue of the Legal Abacus and on the Balance Recruitment website from late April/May.
