Have you been working in legal finance for at least eight years? And have you also been working with client accounts for at least five years?
The Institute is excited to offer associate members the opportunity to build on their substantial knowledge and expertise. If you have this experience, you can now apply to become a full member of the Institute without studying for and passing examinations for the Institute’s diploma.
We want to recognise your many years of experience, practical skills and achievements in the real world, all of which demonstrate your personal commitment to professional standards and development. The new route, which we call Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning, or APEL, offers associate members a new and flexible route to full membership of the Institute. Furthermore, associate members who are accredited will then become full members of the Institute and will be able to use our highly-prized designatory letters ILFM (Dip).
Our accreditation process is robust and is, of course, not automatic. For associate members who have impressive and relevant experience working within legal finance over at least eight years and who can demonstrate their thorough knowledge of client accounts for at least five years. This represents a unique opportunity to be recognised for hard work and commitment over many years.
