UK law firms urged to take part in Crowe's industry Benchmarking Survey 2025

  • Posted

Crowe, a leading national audit, tax, advisory and consulting firm, is urging law firms across the UK to take part in its 13th annual Law Firm Benchmarking Survey.

Crowe, in collaboration with The Insitute of Legal Finance and Management (ILFM), is surveying law firms to help provide crucial insights into the financial health of the sector and the key challenges it faces in 2025.

The survey will explore how firms are managing partners' capital, the extent to which artificial intelligence (AI) is being integrated into their work, and the diversity of their partner groups.

Crowe is also looking to gauge how firms are feeling about the future – whether they are leading the way or falling behind others in the industry.

With offices across the UK, including in the Midlands and Kent, Bristol, Cheltenham, Manchester, Thames Valley and London, Crowe is inviting firms to provide their views on key risks, opportunities and strategic priorities for the industry. These include performance expectations, ESG plans and policies, cyber security measures and AI governance frameworks.

Nicky Owen, Partner and Head of Professional Practices, Professional Practices, said:

“Our national survey is a unique opportunity for law firms to see how they compare to their competitors in the industry as well as gauge the confidence of the sector over the coming year.

“While it only takes a short amount of time to complete, the unique commentary offered by our Law Firm Benchmarking Survey provides crucial insights into the financial health of the legal industry and underscores the key challenges faced by law firms and their leaders.

“There are only a few weeks left to complete the survey, so if you’re a managing or senior partner or finance director, don't miss this opportunity to share your views. The full industry-wide report will be published later this Autumn.”

Each participating firm will receive a bespoke benchmarking report which analyses the firm’s performance, allowing them to see how their organisation is positioned in the market. In addition all participants will have the opportunity to discuss the bespoke report with one of our team.

This will give them insight into the successes of other participating firms to see how their firm compares, and the reports feature “scatterplots” which can be used as a catalyst for strategic discussions.

The annual Law Firm Benchmarking Survey seeks the views of managing and senior partners and finance directors and is quick and easy to complete.

To make it easier for the appropriate person in a law firm to complete each section, Crowe has split the survey into two parts.

Firms taking part should use their latest available financial information, with internal management information accepted, which does not need to be audited or approved.
