Sarah Blundell AILFM
Hi, I am Sarah Blundell and I am the ILFM Diploma tutor for the Bookkeeping and Legal Practice Accounts Rules courses. I have 20 years’ experience as a legal Cashier working in small, medium and large law firms and have seen many different systems, procedures and guidelines in adhering to the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules.
I sat the diploma exam 7 years ago and I found it really beneficial, also gaining a better understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules was extremely useful particularly when applying this knowledge to everyday questions or queries. I feel I will have a lot to offer as a diploma tutor and have already found it very rewarding helping and guiding students with their studies. I am enjoying helping students establish the link between learning the course and applying it to the everyday tasks they undertake within their accounting office and earning a recognised qualification at the end of it. I felt that I had gained so much by studying and sitting the diploma exam that I then decided to sit the associate course package which includes the first paper, which is the associate course, then the financial management paper and finally the legal practice paper which I found really enjoyable, relevant and written in an uncomplicated and practical way.
I am very much enjoying growing with the ILFM. I have already been made to feel very welcome as the newest recruit and I have been impressed by the enthusiasm of everyone within the institute.
In my spare time I do lots of child orientated fun activities keeping my small children busy such as swimming, camping, children parties, soft play and Thomas Land! When I can fit it in I like to keep fit and go to the gym and swim as often as I can, I like to go out for dinner and to the cinema on the rare occasion we can fit it in.
