Elaine Pasini MCIM

Hi, I’m Elaine and take great pleasure in overseeing the communications within the ILFM. My door is always open! 

My career kick-started as an A Level student in law, subsequently achieving a Legal Secretary Diploma including Legal Accounting.  I’ve been lucky to have worked in some exceptional law firms as a Legal Secretary and Fee Earner, as well as heading up my own In-House Legal Team at Guinness/Diageo (Head Paralegal overseeing the marketing department's trademarks, confidentiality agreements for anyone coming onto the Site, together sponsorship agreements).  

I’ve been working in the areas of law and marketing for 30 years now and have watched the digital landscape change dramatically, closely researching the impact it has had on legal services and its clients. In 2004 my career switched when I decided I wanted to work in the legal marketing and communications business side of the law, so studied and became a specialist in digital marketing and content to enhance law firm engagement.  

Having worked in legal support for most of my career I understand the pressures on those professionals who aren’t always seen as the first port of call for a client. I appreciate the many issues behind a legal practice that clients might not always be aware of; the ever-increasing challenges that come with law firm compliance, cyberattacks, anti-money laundering and general client savviness from digital research.  

I am a proud member of the Institute of Legal Finance & Management, being part of the amazing work that is carried out by the team for all its members. The ILFM is truly the UK's leading education and membership organisation in the legal sector for support teams in finance, compliance and practice management. 

We provide qualifications, training, knowledge, support and information for anyone working in law (legal cashiers, compliance officers, practice managers, fee earners, sole practitioners, legal secretaries, and more); I welcome speaking to anyone looking to collaborate or enhance their firms’ employee innovation and training. 

Along with my colleagues, we are dedicated to driving innovation, advancing education and promoting excellence throughout the legal sector. ILFM’s training and education aims to raise awareness, advocate good business practice and continue to maintain high standards ensuring that clients’ money and assets are protected and treated ethically.
