LAUNCH OF NEW ILFM QUALIFICATION COURSE

The ILFM is excited to launch its new course, “Tax for Legal Finance Professionals”, part of ILFM’s Associate Level professional qualification and also available as a standalone certificate.

A perfect course for legal cashiers who have passed their ILFM Diploma, and are ready for the next step up in their financial managerial career.  The ILFM Associate Level includes certificates on Accounting for Legal Finance Professionals, Financial Management, Tax for Legal Finance Professionals and Legal Practice Management.

Legal finance professionals have never had so much responsibility; accounts and management teams in firms require education and training to gain confidence in dealing with the demands of the ever evolving landscape of legal practices.  Solicitors’ firms have to deal with compliance and regulations like never before and although the new SRA Accounting Rules are less prescriptive, this only adds extra pressure to a law firm’s finance employees.

PAYE, Employment Tax and VAT are vital, along with Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax (especially if you are a firm of solicitors involved in Family Law, Private Client & Probate, and Conveyancing) all are subjects that will require knowledge and understanding when dealing with matters involving financial tax.  Training with the ILFM to become certified in Tax for Legal Finance Professionals will give your legal practice a sense of security knowing they have trained colleagues to hand.

Tutor

Robert Cooper, Tutor for Tax for Legal Finance Professionals, says of the new course,

“This course is a must for small practices, especially Private Client and Conveyancing, where there are queries on Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax on a daily occurrence.  Legal cashiers who are capable of managing a legal firm’s accounts will feel empowered by this new course, as it offers all round knowledge of accounting, allowing questions and answers to stay in-house rather than having to seek external tax knowledge.  The ILFM’s trainings are a return on investment for any UK legal firm”

A highly skilled Finance Professional for over 30 years, Robert is a senior lecturer in Advanced Bookkeeping, Business Taxation and Personal Taxation, and having been a member of the ILFM since 1988, we are thrilled to have him join us as a tutor for this course.  A qualified FCCA, Fellow Institute of Legal Executives, AAT, Fellow ILFM, together with a BTEC in Business Studies, you know you are in capable hands with Robert supervising and facilitating you through the course.

This qualification will usually take around 18 months to complete, but it may be possible to complete it in as little as 9 months.  This new certificate is a perfect challenge for those of you who have completed the ILFM Associate level and wish to further your knowledge.
